Beginning of the rhizotron experiment

by Filippo Biscarini

Within Polyploidbreeding 4.0, the rhizotron experiment is carried out at the facilities of the Forschungszentrum Jülich, in Germany.

In this experiment, the root architecture of 48 varieties of durum wheat (Triticum durum) will be characterized. Our colleague Giulia Moscatelli is performing the experiment under the supervision of Dr. Kerstin Nagel and Dr. Fabio Fiorani from the Forschungszentrum Jülich.

Root phenotyping is ongoing: 15 January - 15 February 2025.
